New video - Anderson on Jeopardy

We here at unanchored were surprised to discover that Paris Hilton has fans. We always thought she was famous for being mockable - a celebrity people loved to hate, as it were. But no, there are people online who think she is a wonderful role model, and are very unpleasant to people who don't think so... like, say, Anderson Cooper. So for the detractors who would like you to believe Anderson is as intellectually challenged as the hotel heiress, we present: Anderson Cooper on Jeopardy. Watch in awe as he pulverizes his non-trivial competition. Now playing on our downloads page.

Programming Changes

We all noticed that the second hour of AC360 was identical to the first hour on Monday. Tuesday, they actually got twenty minutes into the eleven o'clock hour before running with repeats. Unfortunately, it appears that the duplication is at least semi-permanent. This from Inside Cable News:

AC 360 summer programming changes…

ICN received email from alert Anderson Cooper 360 viewers inquiring about AC 360 cutting back on its live coverage to just the first hour. I looked into it and here’s the story:

AC 360 will be live from 10 pm ET to the top of the 11 pm hour. The rest of the 11 pm hour will be tape. However, if there’s a breaking news occurring the program will continue live as warranted. This format will remain in place for the rest of the summer.

We fear this may be the harbinger of other schedule changes, but hope we're wrong.

Uh-oh

Okay, perhaps it was inevitable. But when Anderson Cooper expressed so much contempt for people willing to sit down and interview (and pay for the privilege) the spoiled heiress who shall not be named, the Gods of Karma were displeased. Yes, she is going to appear on Larry King Live on Wednesday, and we here at unanchored wonder how the 9:45 AC360 promo is going to go.

Our advice? Call in sick that day, Anderson. Make up a new category of 'blue flu'; perhaps news flu?

Cologne ads?

Janet Charlton has more dish on Anderson:

ANDERSON COOPER SAYS NO, NO, NO, TO TOM FORD

Anderson Cooper and Tom ford have been seen having lunch in Manhattan and they got New Yorkers buzzing overtime about WHAT they might be talking about. Actually Tom ford was offering Anderson a job as spokesman for his new cologne line coming out later this summer. Cooper was impressed with the scent and flattered to be considered for such a gig, but explained he already had plans for the summer. He's made promises to people that he'll return to Iraq, the Sudan, and Indonesia, and has no time for jobs on the side. Ford immediately sweetened the deal by offering to send Cooper's salary to charities in Africa. Cooper thought about it, but ended up saying no to Tom Ford. And THAT doesn't happen often.
